‘Billboard’ names Olivia Rodrigo its 2022 Woman of the Year | Music News

Billboard Women in Music Awards gives its highest honor to Olivia Rodrigue.

Unsurprisingly, the “good 4 u” singer was named the publication’s Woman of the Year, and she’ll be receiving the honor at the 2022 Women in Music Awards on March 2 in Los Angeles. Olivia’s Scrapbook SOUR and his 11 titles pretty much topped the Billboard charts over the past year.

“Olivia’s trajectory to stardom is the makings of a pop music legend,” said Hannah Karp, Billboard‘s editorial director, in a statement. “Her talents as a storyteller and songwriter have made Olivia one of the most authentic and exciting new artists to explode onto the scene in years…We are thrilled to celebrate her unique voice and l huge impact she had on fans around the world in such a short time.”

Just a few of the women who have been BillboardWoman of the Year in the past included Olivia’s idol Taylor Swiftmore Lady Gaga, Madonna, Billie Eilish and Ariana Grande.

As previously reported, other honorees at this year’s ceremony include Gabby Barrette, Doja Cat, Phoebe BridgerR&B star summer walkerrapper Saweetieand Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Bonnie Raitt.
