Call for applications: Ghana Music Awards UK 2022

Brought together by Alordia Promotions and West Coast UK, the awards highlight and celebrate the outstanding musical achievements of Ghanaian artists in the country and the UK while facilitating an environment of collaboration and cultural exchange.

The project aims to provide a platform representative of the opinion of the general public and professionals in the sector. “For this reason, a selection process has been structured, this year, to enhance the credibility of the awards program,” organizers said, adding that this year’s event will see awards presented in 42 voting categories and two honorary categories.

To be eligible, submitted works must have been published between April 1, 2021 and March 31, 2022. Artists or their representatives must submit their entries online here.

Voting will be done on the official awards website or via mobile phone with short codes on the selected mobile networks, which organizers say will be communicated in due course.

Gospel musician Diana Hamilton won Artist of the Year 2021 as well as Gospel Artist of the Year and Gospel Song of the Year gongs. Shatta Wale, Wiyaala, Akwaboah, Keche, Kuami Eugene and KiDi also won two awards each. Other winners included Mr Drew and Reggie N Bollie.
