Psy to Release New Single Produced by BTS’s Suga E! News UK
Psy will release a new single.
The ‘Gangnam Style’ hitmaker will release new track ‘Take That’, which will feature on his upcoming album ‘Psy 9th’.
Psy’s new song will be released on Friday (4/29/22), and it’s produced by BTS’s Suga.
The 44-year-old singer admitted that Suga, 29, “really feels like a friend” after the pair worked well together.
In a teaser ahead of the new single, he said: “When I meet young artists, I don’t want to be someone who is difficult to approach.
“[Suga] was not only my junior in the company, but also he really feels like a friend. It was hard to feel an age gap.”
Suga admitted he felt “nervous” about teaming up with Psy because he’s “so respected in the business,” but they developed a close friendship.
Suga added: “[It] I felt like I was working with a childhood friend, which made the songwriting process a lot more fun. We became best friends in a way.”
Psy is best known for his 2012 international hit single “Gangnam Style”, which took the world by storm due to its catchy beat and garnered a lot of attention for the star’s energetic dancing in the music video for the song.
He won several awards for the track and the video that followed, including Best Video at the MTV Europe Music Awards, Musician of the Year at the Korean Music Awards, and New Media Award at the American Music Awards.
The tune appeared on Psy’s “Psy 6 (Six Rules), Part 1” record.
The star’s new album will be her eighth studio album, after “4X2=8”, “Chiljip Psy-da” and “PsyFive”.
