Carrie Underwood: “Janet Jackson gave me a kiss” – Music News

Multi-Grammy award-winning country superstar Carrie Underwood joined Baylen Leonard on Absolute Radio Country to talk about her new album, performing at Glastonbury and life in Vegas.

Reminiscing about her performance at Glastonbury, Carrie described what it was like to perform at the legendary UK festival in 2019 and the moment of stardom that froze her. “I’ve played in many festivals but this one is special. It was great fun, the crowd was great; it was good, and Janet Jackson sent me a kiss. The superstar went on to say how she awkwardly reacted to the kiss “I kinda froze, and my friend who was with me was like a blow back! I froze, moments passed and it would be a little weird if I’m just over there waving at him or something like a weirdo.

Although used to performing in front of huge crowds, the “Before He Cheats” singer also revealed to Baylen that she’s much happier being home and enjoys being a bit of a hermit. “I don’t go places… on my own if it was just up to me and my devices, I’d just be a little farmer and sit at home doing nothing. I shouldn’t say doing nothing, I’m actually really busy when I’m home, but it’s chores, I do chores. When Baylen asked her if she liked doing chores, she replied “Yes! I love gardening, we have chickens…I’m always cleaning or washing something, I have two messy boys and one of them, for some reason, likes to change his wardrobe, he will wear three or four outfits a day.

Carrie also spoke with the Absolute Country presenter about the name of her new album ‘Demin and Rhinestones’ which was released on June 10. “I feel like in country music, there’s just this really nice story of that, you know; we love our bling, we love our fringe… When you have an image in your head you think of denim you think of something that stands the test of time and is reliable and feels great and all those nuggets in addition.

Carrie also has a residency in Vegas which is currently on hiatus due to her touring, but talking about what it is like, she said, “There’s so many good things obviously about doing a traditional tour, a tour. arena, but you know you’re in a theater, you’re in the same place… you can kind of do some things, you don’t have to pack everything up after every show so we can kind of do bigger things that can live there at the theater.

During her visit to London, the superstar admits she’s just looking forward to walking…once the jet lag wears off, of course.

You can hear Carrie Underwood speak to Baylen Leonard on Absolute Radio Country on Monday, July 11.
