Ghana National Gospel Music Awards Advisory Board

The organizers of the prestigious Ghana National Gospel Music Awards have unveiled the members of its advisory board.

The announcement comes ahead of its 5th edition scheduled for August 2022.

The Board of Directors is made up of people from different facets of the music industry, including broadcasters, musicians, engineers, and more.

Below is the full list of members and their profiles.

Philip Agyemang Prempeh – Broadcaster

Philip Agyemang Prempeh is an award-winning Ghanaian broadcaster with Power FM and TV XYZ.

Known to Power FM fans and listeners as Agyemang Prempeh, the broadcaster has a vast wealth of knowledge gained from years of experience in the music and radio industry.

Dan Lartey – Critic

With a career spanning over a decade, Dan Lartey has over the years contributed to writing and conversations about the various disciplines of the arts on both radio and television.

Dan Lartey has worked with several musicians on a promotional basis and served on boards for various music awards across the country and beyond.

He is the CEO of Remedi Entertainment; a research and promotion team.

Fred Kyei Mensah – Sound engineer and expert

The proud old boy of Prempeh College in the Ashanti Region, Fredyma, as he is affectionately known to young and old alike, is a revered sound engineer credited with unearthing and nurturing several talents including musicians and sound engineers .

Some of these talents include Ofori Amponsah, Late Kofi B, Celestine Donkor, JQ, Appietus, Bishop Mantey and many more.

With a pool of knowledge, Fred Kyei Mensah worked as a sound engineer for 37 years and was also a radio expert for 34 years.

Michael Kwaku Ola – Broadcaster

Popularly referred to by his surname, Ola is a filmmaker, on-air radio presenter, talent manager and public relations manager.

He has a pool of knowledge from over two decades of radio work.

Helina Rhables – Musician

Helina Chablis needs no introduction.

A popular gospel musician from Sekondi’s twin town, Takoradi, in the Western Region of Ghana, Helina started performing at an early age in a predominantly Christian background.

She trained as a teacher and after teaching for nine years, she felt the call of God to fully pursue her musical career.

She released her first album titled Helena Rhhabbles Volume 1 in 1994. The album became an instant hit with the public. His songs have become the toast of praise and worship singers in churches across the country.

She followed that up in 1995 with Volume. 2 with powerful tracks like So So Wonders and Kokromotsi. Since then, she has not released an album.

Kofi Abraham – Musician

Known in real life as Abraham Kofi Boakye, Prof. Kofi Abraham is a great Ghanaian composer, songwriter and performer with over 53 years of ministry under his belt.

Given the title of “Professor” in Koforidua by a member of late President Hilla Liman’s administration, Professor Kofi Abraham was the head of the True Gospel Band and the Ashanti Regional Music Union of Ghana (MUSIGA).

His contribution to gospel music dates back to the 1970s.

He served as Vice President of the MUSIGA Ashanti Region for 12 years and then became President for eight years.

He received recognition from Asantehene, President Nana Akuffo Addo and other institutions including Elpizio of Canada. He recently received a lifetime achievement award from the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Professor Kofi Abraham is currently a board member of the Ghana Music Rights Organization.

Nelly Dorborson – Speaker, Corporate Communicator and Student Advisor

Nelly holds an MPhil in Communication and Media Studies (Business Communication) from Winneba College of Education.

She has extensive experience in interpersonal and public communication, administration, customer service and team leadership in a wide variety of high-pressure and deadline-driven environments.

His area of ​​specialization is public relations, advertising, organizational communication and communication for development.

Nelly Dorborson is currently Dean of Student Affairs.

Prince Acheampong – Banker

Prince is a banker by profession and has over 9 years of experience in the financial services industry, ranging from insurance, investment and banking. He also has extensive experience in branding and marketing and in the art of sales.

Prince holds a Master of Arts in Economic Policy Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Philosophy from the University of Ghana. He also holds a certificate in Business Intelligence and is a Power BI analyst which was obtained by both NIIT. Prince has sufficient understanding of the digital space and the tenants these platforms thrive on.

His appreciation of the music space also enhances and provides the board with an opportunity to tap into his knowledge for a successful awards ceremony. He has the qualities necessary to guide and improve the work of the advisory board. Prince is a go-getter, autonomous and motivated person who passionately aspires to results and the achievement of set objectives.

Gloria Naana Buatsin – Musician

Popularly called Naana Buatsin, she is the other half of the Naana and Dan duo.

Gloria Naana Buatsin is a baker, singer and professional nurse.
