The Gold Coast Music Awards return for their eighth year in 2022.
Celebrating resilience in these trying times, the Gold Coast Music Awards will see the city’s rising stars celebrated across 12 categories in a scintillating daytime ceremony and live concert.
This year’s finalists include Wildheart, which received the most nominations in five categories. Casey Barnes and Eliza And The Delusionals were each named finalists in four categories. Other notable nominees include Sofia Isella, Chutney and Lily Papas. Lily performs at the Awards after-party.
“We have been overwhelmed by the number of award nominations we have received this year, a total of 686,” said Gold Coast Music Awards co-founder Chloe Papa. “This number of nominations is equivalent to several days of non-stop listening for the judging panel. It’s amazing to think that this is just a small fraction of the music produced each year on the Gold Coast.
“We are always delighted to see new nominees added to the mix every year and 2022 did not disappoint. There is a very strong contingent of emerging artists and new talent making waves on the Gold Coast in this The finalists reflect a good balance of rising stars as well as musicians already recognizable on the national and international scene such as Casey Barnes, Tijuana Cartel, Hussy Hicks, Eliza and the Delusionals and Hollow Coves.
“Recognition of those working behind the scenes has been a real priority for the awards this year with the introduction of two new categories for Studio Producer and Visual Creative. The ten finalists named in these categories hold an impressive list of achievements between them. and we look forward to highlighting the work they do in the industry.
