Luke Combs was the big winner at this year’s CMA Awards.

The 32-year-old singer won the coveted Entertainer of the Year and Album of the Year honor for “Growin’ Up” during the ceremony at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee on Wednesday ( 09.11.22).

Accepting the Entertainer of the Year award, Luke – who attended the event with his wife Nicole Combs – said: “I want to thank country music for making my dreams come true my beautiful, beautiful Wife Nicole, our beautiful four-and-Tex, her half-month-old son, is home right now. It’s a dream come true.

Luke beat competition from Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood and Morgan Wallen in the Artist of the Year category.

He said: “There’s no one in this category who doesn’t deserve to be standing here.

“And I’m so grateful to my team. Everyone who’s been on this journey, everyone in this room, I owe you so much.

“I love you so much. I can’t believe it. Thanks for the country music, and let me tell you one more thing about tonight. This is my fifth or sixth time at this awards show. , and country sounded more country than it has in a long time tonight.”

Lainey Wilson also tasted success on the night, winning New Artist of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year, in which she defeated Miranda, Carrie, Ashley McBryde and Carly Pearce.

Cody Johnson also picked up two awards during the show, winning both Single of the Year and Music Video of the Year for his song “Til You Can’t.”

Other winners included Chris Stapleton who won Male Vocalist of the Year, while Brothers Osborne won Vocal Duo of the Year and Old Dominion received Vocal Group of the Year.

This year’s Country Music Association Awards (CMA) were hosted by country singer Luke Bryan and former NFL star Peyton Manning.
