Nominations open for Queensland Music Awards 2023

It’s about time – the Queensland Music Awards (QMAs), presented by QMusic, return in 2023, and nominations are now open.

Early next year, QMusic is set to spotlight some of the state’s newest musical talent and bring the industry and artists together for the night of Queensland Music Industry Nights.

This year’s biggest winners were The Jungle Giants for Album of the Year, Sycco for Song of the Year, and Amy Shark for top-selling single “Cry Forever.”

Artists who released songs and music videos between December 1, 2021 and November 30, 2022 can be nominated in over 20 widely varying categories. The awards are also open to People’s Choice Awards venues and festivals.

“QMAs play a vital role in recognizing local talent,” said QMusic CEO Kris Stewart. “This is a rare opportunity to bring out new talent and bring our community together to celebrate the passion and tenacity that make our industry great.”

“From household names Keith Urban, Amy Shark and Sheppard to artists like Sycco, The Jungle Giants, Jesswar and Hope D, it’s clear the talent coming out of Queensland is stronger than ever.”

Nominations are now open and will be judged by music industry professionals from across the country.

Nominations close at 11:59 p.m. EST on November 28, 2022.

The Queensland Music Awards take place on March 28, 2023.
