Tom Odell wows with surprise live performance at St Pancras – Up News Info

Today, British singer-songwriter Tom Odell wowed visitors to St Pancras International with a live acoustic performance on the station’s famed Elton John Free Piano.

Thousands stopped by to catch the solo star’s set filled with songs from his upcoming new album Best Day Of My Life and his acclaimed catalog as the multi-award-winning musician continued a legacy of surprise performances at the station of world class musicians such as Elton John, John Legend and Ed Sheeran.

Tom embarked on a new independent chapter in his career in 2021, in which he regained creative control of his music and took over the reins of his career. Now an independent artist and armed with a newfound sense of freedom, Tom has stripped things down: Best Day Of My Life, his 5th studio album due out October 28, takes him to frank and painful places, exploring topics that resonate with many Londoners – from his ongoing battle with anxiety to struggling with emotional peaks and troughs.

Tom also performed his first hit single “Another Love”, currently back in the top 15 on the singles chart and 12 on Spotify’s world chart, as he recently enjoyed a phenomenal resurgence this year with the song often used in videos on the crisis in Ukraine and demonstrations in Iran.

Ivor Novello and Brit award winner Tom performed the single at ITV’s Concert For Ukraine earlier this year alongside other artists who raised £13.4million, he also performed it at the Bucharest train station to raise awareness and funds for Ukrainian refugees, and came with Grammy-winning DJ and producer Tiësto for a remix of the single with all proceeds going to charity Choose Love.

Tom says, “I feel so liberated to be an independent artist. A year ago I challenged myself to write and record an entire album using only my voice and piano with absolutely nothing else. I’m so proud of how this record turned out and couldn’t wait to share it with the public. Performing it in such a unique setting, in front of so many different people, all stopping for a moment to listen to music together, is a brilliant experience.
